Dear Co-Active Coaches,

Welcome to the October edition of The Inquiry! Energy levels here at CTI are shooting through the roof, as we prepare for this year’s ICF Conference in St Louis, MO, November 1–4. If you’re planning to go to the conference, check out our special conference update in the CTI News section.

It has all the details on what’s happening at the CTI booth, how you can get your ticket to our fabulous party on Friday night and much more.

Whether you’re going to the conference or not, we think you’ll enjoy the articles featured this month on the topic: “What can’t you be with in your coaching?” Monique Morimoto Flaherty, MS, CPCC, writes on “Getting Myself Out of the Way Around Money and the Selling of Coaching” and Jil Windsor, CPCC, PCC, provides an intriguing view on “Coaching the Forbidden and Taboo.”

ICF Conference: November 1–4, St Louis, MO
It’s all going to be happening at the CTI booth (#211) this year, where you can be part of daily drawings, giveaways, exclusive conference-only packages and great first-timer offers for coaches who haven’t taken a CTI course before. Our fabulous CTI staff members, Andrew, Debra, Stephanie and CeCe, will provide you with a personal consultation on what’s next for you, and how you and CTI can partner to make it happen. They are featured in the photos on the right. Be sure to say “Hi!” when you get there. They’d all love to speak with you.

This year, the Co-Active Network is sponsoring our party. Themed “A Trip Around the World with the Co-Active Network,” attendees are invited to experience the power of the network by mixing with different geographic communities and making connections with people from various niche specialties in the community. There will be food, fun and coaches to meet from around the world. Rick Tamlyn, MCC, will be emceeing the party, and you’ll also be able to meet CTI co-founders Karen Kimsey-House and Henry Kimsey-House.

Invitations are open to ALL COACHES…come and get your complimentary ticket at the CTI booth. Save this date!

Friday, November 3, from 7-9 p.m.
Majestic Ballroom D

Getting Myself Out of the Way Around Money and the Selling of Coaching
“The ‘selling’ of coaching and the money conversation are areas I have struggled with. Gremlins lurk in my preconscious mind…(and)…are generated by fear: of not getting enough, having enough, being enough, doing enough, having answers, being greedy and a vulture, losing a client or a prospect,” says Monique Morimoto Flaherty, MS, CPCC, and a certified life and spiritual fitness coach. Join Monique as she addresses these important points in her article.

Coaching the Forbidden and Taboo
Jil (with one “L”) Windsor, CPCC, PCC, is the co-creator of Danger, Sex and Magic™: Coaching the Forbidden and Taboo. In the article, Jil says, “Rather than stepping over golden opportunities that scare us at first blush, we want to see coaches courageously take on the vibrant challenge of ‘taboo-busting’ and be willing to move with clients into the great depth of the unknown.” Click here to read more.

New Topics for the January 2007 Inquiry
We love to hear the community’s views and experiences! For the first Inquiry newsletter of 2007, we are inviting articles on the topic of “How to build and grow a successful corporate practice.” How do you initiate engagement with corporations? How do you develop long-term Co-Active relationships with corporations?

We look forward to receiving your submissions at newsletter@thecoaches.com. Details are in the submission guidelines.
